As part of an expanding focus on women, Adidas next month will draft WNBA star Candace Parker for a promotion dangling the chance to co-star with Parker in a new ad campaign.

Starting Feb. 1, Adidas will ask women to share their stories about training struggles and successes on Adidas.com/women. The three entrants whose stories are chosen will appear in the campaign, themed “Me, Myself,” alongside Parker, the leagues’ MVP and Rookie of the Year. The materials will appear in-store and online.

Entrants can also invite family and friends to vote for them via an online widget compatible with Facebook and other social networking sites.

“Our goal was to create a contest that not only celebrates women’s achievements but allows all participants to learn from each other’s stories,” said Britt Jorgenson, U.S. brand marketing director, Adidas sport performance, in a written statement.

The contest is being promoted in stores like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Hibbett Sports and other outlets, in addition to online.
