Subway has added
Seattle’s Best to its breakfast menu. The coffee brand, owned by
Starbucks Corp., has entered a deal with the sandwich chain for
exclusive coffee distribution in Subway stores.
While Seattle's Best is already sold in supermarkets and served
over 6,000 foodservice locations, this deal will bring the brand to
an additional 9,000 U.S. Subways and 800 Canadian locations by the
end of this year, with further plans to expand in 2010.
Not only will Seattle's Best be expanding its reach, but Subway
will also showcase the brand name on the menus to attract customers
to their breakfast options. The sandwich shops will offer both
regular and decaf Seattle’s Best Blend, Henry’s Blend or 6th Avenue
Bistro Blend.
"We recognize that a great cup of coffee can be an integral part of
one’s day,” said Suzanne Greco, director of research and
development for Subway, in a statement. “The blend selections
available from Seattle’s Best Coffee will wonderfully compliment
our breakfast menu.”
